2008 Master Classes |
|
MCDR is offering a series of Master Classes for mediators and other ADR practitioners in different Maryland locations. The classes are four hours in length on a variety of topics, and certificates of attendance will be provided. Mediator participants may submit these for consideration for MPME requirements and for Circuit Court continuing training requirements. To register for one or more master classes, please use the attached registration form, make checks out to MCDR and send to the address, as noted. |

Brief Description: NLP offers a model for a simple, yet meaningful way to understand and interpret how a person processes their experiences. Brief Description: Mediators need to be able to stay calm and centered in the midst of uproar, yelling, and accusations, at times. This workshop will focus on some strategies for dealing with high conflict, and ways to turn the situation into an opportunity for real communication. The workshop will include presentation, discussion and role plays based on situations from actual cases. If you wish, bring your “worst problem” from a high conflict family mediation case for discussion. |

4. Self Awareness and Conflict: The Enneagram as Catalyst |

Brief Description: Self awareness, the ongoing attention to one’s internal state, has a profound influence on the way we “do” conflict. The Enneagram is a personality typology that identifies nine separate and distinct personality types. Participants will type themselves, discuss attributes of their type and interact with each other and presenters on the relevance of type to conflict, dispute resolution and relationships. |

The National Institute for Conflict Resolution Training
Patricia A. "Trish" Miller, Esq.
Trish is a Harvard Law School trained mediator, attorney and law professor.
She has over 25 years experience as a negotiator, mediator, arbitrator
and executive coach. Trish facilitates workshops in negotiation/communication
skills to a wide range of individuals from federal hostage negotiators
to lawyers to business executives of all types. She has been named to
Maryland's Top 100 Women in business the maximum of three times and
is an executive coach in communication skills. She is an ACR certfied
Advanced Practitioner and trainer. |
