MAIN PROGRAM:
“CONFIDENTIALITY: IT AIN’T WHAT IT’S CRACKED-UP TO BE”
7:00 PM – Imagine this: two clients for whom you have mediated both waive their expectations of confidentiality and subpoena you, the mediator, to testify. May you? Does it matter the context within which you mediated? Guided by Law Professor Emeritus and former MCDR President Roger Wolf, join us for a timely discussion on the meaning of confidentiality in mediation in Maryland, its limits, and best practices to ensure confidentiality in mediation.
Law professor and former MCDR President Roger Wolf will lead discussion on:
- The way confidentiality works under different ethical standards in Maryland
- National trends in the understanding of confidentiality as applied to the mediated conversation
- What MCDR (and other organizations) might do to make confidentiality protections meaningful
Come join us for a discussion that is relevant for all mediators and all who care about mediation in the State of Maryland. Find out what’s important to understand about a key feature of mediation practice.
