Owned by attorney and mediator John N. Greer, Patuxent Mediation Services is a mediation practice comitted to the meaningful resolution of disputes with dignity for all parties. He has specialized in employment and discrimination cases as a mediator the past five years for the Maryland Commission on Human Relations and for the past four years with a Federal agency. As Legislative Counsel for that agency for 12 years, John has extensive experience in multi-party public policy conflicts. He also has experience in congregational church conflicts, having served on the governing body of a local congregation that suffered a contentious division centered on the senior pastor.
John draws upon a range of mediation approaches, depending upon the needs of the parties. His emphasis, however, is always upon ensuring that the voices of all parties are heard and that any solution belongs to the parties.
He is on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution and a member of the Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence. He is admitted to the bar in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Because he holds a Top Secret clearance, John is uniquely qualified to handle national security cases.
John earned his J.D from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1987, his M.A. from Cornell University in 1979, and his B.A. from Colgate University in 1977.
Patuxent Mediation is located near Columbia in Howard County, Maryland. It is named for the nearby Patuxent River.
